While technology in the fitness industry is nothing new, the COVID-19 pandemic has majorly increased use of these tools to stay fit and track wellness.

Here are our top four technologies that you can use to stay on track and monitor the progress you’ve made towards achieving your health goals:

1.  My Fitness Pal

My Fitness Pal is a smartphone and desktop app that allows you to track your calorie intake, water intake, and exercise. The best part? It’s free. If you are tracking your macros or are looking to start, this is a great app to track your nutrients daily. This app is easy to use and easy to learn. If you’re looking to get more into your health and wellness, this is a great place to start!

2.  Pretty Muscles Workout App

Pretty Muscles is an at-home workout app created by Carrie Underwood’s personal trainer, Erin Opera. Erin includes full-body workouts, muscle specific workouts, and full cardio workouts. The best thing about this app is that the workouts are quick, but not easy. They’ll get you working up a sweat and building muscles. It features a different workout each day, and it’s almost like you are getting trained personally by Erin – she even gives you off days!

3.  Hidrate Water Bottle

For everyone who struggles to get their daily water in, this is for you! This high-tech water bottle reminds you to drink water throughout the day so that you can achieve your fluid intake goal. You set up an account through the Hidrate smartphone app, set your water goal, and connect with friends.

Based on the daily goal you set in the app, the water bottle establishes an hourly water intake goal. If you aren’t close to reaching your goal each hour, the water bottle lights up until you drink from it. Once you set your bottle down, the bottle triggers an automatic app update so that you can see your progress. It’s a unique and fun way to make sure you’re drinking enough water each day!

4.  Peloton

Peloton offers some of the most popular home workout equipment – a spin bike and treadmill. While both pieces are expensive and quite an investment, many users claim that it is worth the splurge. Both the Peloton bike and treadmill are great options to get an intense workout in a short amount of time. You can choose what type of workout you would like, including cycling, running, strength, and yoga, and simply follow along with the trainer on the screen. Peloton also offers different rides through popular destinations, making the exercise fun and enjoyable.

If the Peloton equipment is out of your price range, the smartphone and smart TV application is an affordable option at just $13/month. You have access to all the classes and can use your own equipment at home to get your workout in. The app will also communicate with your Apple Watch so that you can still track the metrics that matter most to you!

Fitness technology presents a great opportunity for individuals of all ages and abilities to improve their health and achieve their wellness goals.
